In a move towards bolstering environmental protection and climate change mitigation, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury today discussed a collaborative effort with the United States after a productive meeting with Peter Haas, the US Ambassador to Bangladesh, at the Secretariat office.
The minister informed journalists about the positive outcomes of the discussions, emphasizing the shared goal of advancing bilateral relations with a strong focus on environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
The meeting between Ambassador Haas and Minister Chowdhury highlighted a range of shared priorities, including the scaling up of collaborative initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing Bangladesh’s capacity to adapt to the impacts of climate change. Both parties expressed optimism about the continuation of their close collaboration in the years to come, indicating a long-term commitment to environmental and climate objectives.
Despite acknowledging some differences of opinion, Ambassador Haas reassured that the United States is keen to work with Bangladesh on various fronts, including the fight against climate change.
