Cultural organisation Chhayanaut is set to organise its annual Autumn programme jointly with St Joseph Higher Secondary School on Friday, bringing together students from several educational institutions through music, dance and other cultural performances.

Titled 'Jog De Re Aj Saman Tane', the programme will begin at 7:30 am at the St Joseph Higher Secondary School premises at 97 Asad Avenue in Mohammadpur.

A second joint programme, also titled “Jog De Re Aj Saman Tane,” is scheduled for Saturday at St Gregory’s High School and College, with participation from St Gregory’s, Nalanda High School and Chhayanaut.

Students and performers from St Joseph Higher Secondary School, St Joseph International School, Excel Academy, Nalanda High School and Chhayanaut will take part in the programme, which will remain open to all.

The event will also be streamed live on Chhayanaut’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

The programme marks the continuation of Chhayanaut’s effort to take its seasonal cultural celebrations beyond its own premises and engage younger audiences through educational institutions.

Last year, Chhayanaut organised its autumn programme for the first time jointly with St Joseph Higher Secondary School. Held on October 11, 2025, the programme, titled “Sharat Prate Arun Alo,” featured performances by the school’s Cultural Forum students, followed by Chhayanaut’s presentation of an edited version of Rabindranath Tagore’s Sharodotsav.

Students of Nalanda High School participated in the latter segment, while Chhayanaut students and teachers presented songs and dance.

The 2025 collaboration was part of Chhayanaut’s broader effort to reach a wider audience and connect more closely with younger generations.

Chhayanaut General Secretary Laisa Ahmed Lisa said that the organisation wants to take such programmes to more schools, colleges and universities in the future.

Chhayanaut has long maintained a programme of seasonal cultural celebrations. Founded in 1961, Chhayanaut describes its broader mission as strengthening people through their own culture and promoting cultural practice and education toward humanism and universal humanity.
