A unique cultural event, “Mohurter Mayajal: Photo, Art and Craft Exhibition Season 2,” was held at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on Friday, with the participation of over a hundred students.

The event took place at the university’s scenic Amtala premises and was organised for the second time by Aesthetic BAU, the university’s creative platform.

The exhibition featured a live photo contest, bioscope showings, cultural performances, and a special serving of 1,000 cups of tea, among various other attractions.

Students showcased the beauty and emotions of campus life through paintings, handmade crafts, and photographs captured on mobile phones.

Six artworks in total-three each from the photography and the art & craft categories-were awarded for their excellence. All participating students received certificates of appreciation.

The Bangladesh Agricultural University Press Club served as the media partner for the event.

Shakib, a student from the Faculty of Agriculture, said, “We hardly get to experience such creative events on campus. Amid our academic pressures, this program brought a refreshing change.”

Participant Jahin Izma shared, “Beyond academics, we are equally passionate about fine arts and crafts. This exhibition deserves applause for showcasing that.”

Md. Rifat Ali, General Secretary of Aesthetic BAU, mentioned, “Last year, we successfully organized ‘Onuvober Ayena’. This year, we’ve introduced ‘Mohurter Mayajal’ to further promote students’ creativity and cultural involvement, while also showcasing the campus’s natural beauty through photography and videography.”

“Aesthetic BAU is dedicated to promoting our university through photography and videography,” said Prof. Dr. Hasneen Jahan, President of Aesthetic BAU and faculty member of the Agricultural Economics Department.

She added, “It’s heartening to see so many students showcasing their artwork and photographs today. The festive atmosphere across campus is truly delightful.”
