BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir suddenly fell sick while speaking to reporters after paying tributes to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar, marking the 54th Victory Day.
“He (Fakhrul) fell sick and collapsed while speaking to reporters at around 10 am on Monday after paying homage to the brave martyrs,” said BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

He was rushed to Savar Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
BNP Standing Committee member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain is with Fakhrul at the hospital.
Sayrul Kabir Khan said that the BNP secretary general is now in stable condition and undergoing some medical tests.
