BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury have returned home from the USA after attending the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C.
They arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on an Emirates Airlines flight around 4:58 pm, said BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

Earlier on Thursday, a three-member BNP delegation, including party Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s daughter Barrister Zaima Rahman, attended the National Prayer Breakfast in the United States.
The traditional event took place at the Washington Hilton this year, following the inauguration of newly elected US President Donald Trump.
Besides, the BNP delegation also held meetings with Robert Destro, the former US Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labour, and former South Carolina Governor David Beasley on Wednesday.
Zaima travelled to the US capital from London on February 4 to represent her father, while Mirza Fakhrul and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury flew from Dhaka on February 2 to join the event.

The National Prayer Breakfast was organised by the US Congress, inviting global political and social figures for discussions on faith, leadership, and global issues.
On January 11, the National Prayer Breakfast Committee extended invitations to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury to participate in the event.

BNP sources said Tarique Rahman sent his daughter to represent him as he preferred to stay in the UK to take care of his mother BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, who is currently receiving medical treatment there.
