Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) staged a protest procession in the capital on Saturday against rumours, propaganda and alleged conspiratorial activities.
The procession was held at Shahbagh at night under the leadership of JCD Vice-President Kazi Zia Uddin Basit.
The procession marched through different roads in the area, with the participants chanting slogans against conspiracies and propaganda.
JCD leaders and activists protested against what they described as ongoing propaganda and various conspiratorial activities by a “conspiratorial vested quarter” and called upon people to raise their voices against rumours and propaganda.
The protesters said the “conspiratorial vested quarter” is attempting to create confusion among the public by spreading misleading information in various ways.
They urged everyone to remain alert against such rumours and propaganda.
The activists said deliberate rumours and propaganda are unacceptable under any circumstances.
They called upon the student community to build a united resistance against such activities.
The protesters also demanded an end to the activities of the “conspiratorial vested quarter” and effective measures against rumours and propaganda.
