Jatiya Party Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu called upon the Awami League and the BNP to hold dialogue to deal with the existing political situation ahead of the 12th national election.
He urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take the initiative of holding dialogue.
Chunnu made the call to the prime minister while participating in an unscheduled discussion on the closing day of the 11th National Parliament session on Thursday.
He said that as the daughter of the Father of the Nation the prime minister has many responsibilities.

The leader hoped that the PM would call all the political parties to dialogue rising above all the criticism.
He also requested the BNP to look at the people and come to the table without conditions or preconditions.
“As the general secretary of the Jatiya Party it is our duty to say this. We were in the opposition for five years, worked together for many years. I also made an alliance with the Awami League, and had a good relationship with them. So, we will talk about dialogue in that context.”
Referring to the incident of the killing of a policeman on October 28, he said that such incident should not be tolerated.
Chunnu said that several innocent people also died due to the current movement.

“This is also not acceptable. They announced a political programme again on Sunday to Monday. People are in panic,” he said.
He said that the Awami League and the BNP as two big parties have a duty to look at the people and hold talks burying differences and egos.
He demanded that the PM take a leading role in that case on behalf of the Jatiya Party.
He, however, said that the Jatiya Party does not believe in so-called one-point demand.
