The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday said its prior approval will not be required for renovation or repair of institutions and establishments to be used as polling stations in the upcoming 13th parliamentary election.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by M Mamun Aur Rashid, Deputy Director of the Department of Film and Publications, attached to the Bangladesh Election Commission.
In the statement, the EC said the same would apply to the installation or renovation of CCTV cameras at polling stations, as well as the repair of broken or narrow roads leading to polling centres.
