Nur’s cousin and personal bodyguard Saiful allegedly swooped on Tarique, leaving him with head injuries. Tarqiue took treatment from Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Earlier in the day, both factions, led by Reza Kibria and Nur, locked into an altercation during a press conference.
Few days ago, Tarique spoke to media and presented an audio recording of another Nur supporter in a phone call directly threatening to hack him to death.

The recent spat between Tarique and Nur grew over Nur’s reported gobbling up of money donated by Bangladeshis from overseas and the "autocratic nature by Nur in running the party".
Saiful and Nur's bodyguard waylaid Tarique when he was starting his motorcycle after attending a meeting at the party office last night.
"They first asked why I had gone vocal against Nur’s plundering of donations sent for the party, then they slapped and kicked me indiscriminately," said Tarique.

"While I was starting the bike, the group led by Saiful attacked me and they warned me of dire consequences if I continue to speak against Nur," added Tarique.
Tarique, who now belongs to Reza Kibria-led Gono Odhikar Parishad, has emerged as a critic of Nur, accusing the latter of embezzlement of party funds, deceiving party colleagues with manipulated versions of his meeting with Israeli citizen Mendi N Safadi and running the party in an autocratic manner.
