BNP on Sunday announced a five-member partial committee of its student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), dissolving the organisation’s existing body.
Kazi Rawnaqul Islam Shrabon was made the president and Saif Mohammad Jewel the general secretary of the new committee of the JCD, said a press release signed by party senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

Besides, Rashed Iqbal Khan was made senior vice president while Rakibul Islam Rakib 1st the joint general secretary and Abu Afsar Mohammad Yahya organizing secretary of the five-member fresh JCD committee.
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, also the organisational guardian of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, had a views-exchange meeting with the leaders of the JCD central committee on April 12 last.
“All the leaders of the JCD Central Committee unanimously given all the powers regarding the formation and reorganisation of the Chhatra Dal to its guardian Tarique Rahman, the press release said.
Following that meeting, Tarique dissolved the existing JCD committee and formed the partial one.

JCD's last committee was formed on September 19, 2019, with Fazlur Rahman Khokon as its president and Iqbal Hossain Shamol as general secretary. This committee was formed through direct balloting.
