Calling on the country’s people to cast their votes in favour of the Awami League's ‘Boat’ symbol to continue the development journey, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that the current fight is to preserve the country's independence and sovereignty.
The Road, Transport and Bridges Minister said this while addressing an election rally at Zero Point of Kabirhat municipality in his constituency of Noakhali-6 on Saturday afternoon.
Obaidul Quader taunted the BNP, asking: "Where did BNP's movement go? Where did the blockade at Naya Paltan on October 28, one point, 54 parties, 32 points and 28 points go now? BNP is a fake party, a parasite in politics.”

“Those who now talk about not paying gas-electricity rent in the name of movement, their gas-electricity line will be cut for arrears. Those who want to create problems in bank transactions will also be prevented,” he added.
Mentioning again that this fight is for the existence of Bangladesh, Quader called on the voters to go to the polling centers and cast their votes.
