BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has warned that those involved in a one-sided election, in reference to the upcoming 12 parliamentary election, will be tried in the 'people's court'.
The BNP senior joint secretary general made the remarks at a virtual press briefing on Tuesday.
"Today, the current regime is continuing its insistence on holding a farcical election ignoring the opinions of the country, the nation and the international community," said Rizvi.

The BNP leader warned that the government, the Election Commission, and those who are making deals with them won't be spared.
"The people's court is being formed, and they will have to answer for their every misdeed,” Rizvi warned.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that the government is leading the garment industry down a path of destruction.

"Many people will be unemployed if there's a sanction on the garment industry. But the government doesn't think about it. If it were a patriotic government, they would've taken everything into consideration," the BNP leader remarked.
Rizvi accused the government of imprisoning the BNP's high command in order to go ahead with the farcical election.
He also accused the government of making the country's law enforcement agencies "disappear opposition leaders and activists" for the last 15 years.

The BNP leader called on the people to make the 10th spell of the 48-hr blockade, which is set to begin at 6:00 am tomorrow, a success.
"Our movement is to restore democracy. The 48-hour blockade will begin at 6 am tomorrow and continue until 6 am on Friday. Leaders and activists of BNP and like-minded parties from all walks of life will be on the streets during the blockade programme."
"We believe in the power of the people. Our only resort is the people. We don't depend on foreign powers. We are relying on the strength of the people to realise our demands. On behalf of the party's acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, I am urging all to make the blockade programme successful for the next 48 hours,” said Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
