Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s attempt to put the blame of daylong arson attacks in different places across the country on July 29 fell flat due to the presence of BNP’s student wing leader’s presence caught on camera when opposition activists attacked police’s armoured vehicles in Dhaka, reads a post on Awami League’s verified Facebook page.
The post on AL’s verified page contains a photo of Saif Mahmud Jewel, general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, wielding a bamboo stick, who apparently took part in yesterday’s attack on the armoured police vehicles in the capital.
An excerpt of the statement issued by Fakhrul that “AL men are responsible for the attacks” was also included in the post.
