The Executive Board of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) on Friday (May 6) decided to postpone the 19th Asian Games scheduled to be held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou from September 10 to 25 this year.
The OCA postponed the Asian Games, the biggest sports carnival of Asia, indefinitely amid a recent surge in Covid-19 cases in China, the host country of the games.
The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Executive Board met in Tashkent on Friday to discuss the situation and felt postponing the Games was the best decision under the circumstances.
