The decision was taken at an executive committee meeting of the federation held at the Falcon Hall of Bangladesh Air Force on Monday with federation president and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshall Masihuzzaman Serniabat in the chair.
Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club General Secretary Hasanullah Khan Rana, and Mohammedan’s Hockey team Manager Ariful Haque Prince and its Assistant Manager Asaduzzaman Chandan were banned for five years while Dhaka Mariner Youngs member Nazrul Islam Mridha got a three-year ban.
The former trio was also fined Tk 1 lakh each and the latter Tk 50,000.
The Mohammedan-Mariner ill-fated match ended in a fiasco following violence and Bangladesh Hockey Federation later declared the match draw and as a result, Dhaka Mohammedan SC emerged champions and Dhaka Ahahani Limited finished runners-up.
Besides, the technical official of the Mohammedan-Mariner match Nazirul Islam Naju was also banned for three years from all kinds of hockey activities.
The old Dhaka hockey giants and former premier league champions, Usha KC, were relegated to the first division league from the premier league for not taking part in this year league.
