Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports M Akhter Hossain will inaugurate the two-day meet Tuesday afternoon. Deputy Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympics Association (BOA) Ashiqur Rahman Miku and Asaduzzaman Kohonoor will also present as special guests.
A total of 12 teams, split into four groups, will initially compete in the meet.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell MP will be the chief guest at the closing function on Wednesday afternoon and later he will distribute the prizes.
BTA Assistant General Secretary Kallol Das, who is also the secretary of tournament committee, disclosed the details of the tournament at a press conference at the conference room of Hanbdall Stadium on Sunday.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation Syed Shahabuddin Shamim Councilor of the meet’ sponsor Chattogram City Corporation and BTA EC member HM Sohail also spoke at the function, presided by BTA general secretary ANM Wahid Dulal.
The organizer informed the newsman that they will organize an International Tchoukball Tournament this year making the birth centenary of Father of the National Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
