Milan finished eighth in Serie A last season, missing out on European competition. Milan had been eliminated in the knockout playoffs by Feyenoord.
The defender, who was released by his hometown club Servette as a teenager, played in the Swiss second division with Neuchatel Xamax just 15 months ago.
