Dhaka, Aug 19 (UNB) - Bangladesh Archers will start their World Archery Youth Championship’2019 campaign on Tuesday at the Zona Sur University Sports Complex in Madrid of Spain.
On the day, Archers Hakim Ahmed Rubel, Tamimul Islam and Md Shakib Mollah will compete in the qualification round of Recurve junior boys while Mehnaz Akter Monira will take part in the qualification round of Recurve junior girls.
Aishorjjo Rahman will compete in the qualification round of Compound junior boys. Prdipta Chakma will take part in the qualification round of Recurve cadet boys while Eti Khatun and Dia Siddique will compete in Recurve cadet girls.
This year, a total of 585 archers from 61 countries will fight for 20 medals in the competition.
Among them, 293 archers will compete will compete in the Junior (Under-21) categories while 292 archers will take part in the Cadet (Under-18) categories.
Earlier, a 12-member Bangladesh Archery team including 8 archers, 2 trainers and 2 officials reached Madrid on Monday to participate in the meet.
