Bangladesh Archery team, now in the Thai capital Bangkok to participate in the 2025 Asian Cup World Ranking Tournament, Stage-1, competed in the qualification round of the meet on Tuesday (February 18).
Bangladesh men’s and women’s archers completed in the singles, team events and mixed team events of the both recurve and compound divisions on the day.
In the recurve men’s singles, Bangladeshi archers Ram Krishna Saha was placed 10th among 73 competitors scoring 667 out of 720, M Mishad Pradhan finished 17th scoring 665, Sagor Islam was placed 24th scoring 660 while M Rakib Miah was placed 33rd scoring 654.
In the recurve women’s singles, Ety Khatun was placed 19th among 61 participants scoring 637, Shima Akhter Shimu finished 27th scoring 625 while Sonali Roy was placed 51st scoring 590.
In the recurve men’s team, Bangladesh team consists of Ram Krishna Saha, Mishad Pradhan and Sagor Islam was placed 4th among 17 teams scoring 1992 while in the recurve women’s team, Bangladesh team finished 9th among 13 team scoring 1892.
In the compound men’s singles, Bangladeshi archer Himu Bachar finished 19th among 54 competitors scoring 696 out of 720, M Sohel Rana was placed 26th scoring 693, Newas Ahmed Rakib finished 28th scoring 692.
In the compound women’s singles, Bonya Akhter finished 29th among 54 participants scoring 678, Puspita Zaman was placed 40th scoring 657 while Khurshid Jahan finished 41st scoring 650.
In the compound men’s team, Bangladesh team comprises Himu Bachar, Sohel Rana and Newas Ahmed Rakib finished 7th among 12 team scoring 2081 while Bangladesh women’s compound team consists of Bonnya Akhter, Puspita Zaman and Khurshid Jahan finished 10th and last among 10 participating teams.
In the mixed team, Himu Bachar and Bonnya Akhter of Bangladesh were placed 11th among the 15 teams scoring 1374.
The elimination round of both the recurve and compound divisions of men’s and women’s competitions begins Wednesday morning.
