Bangladesh completed their 19th Asian Games Men's Football campaign brilliantly forcing their superior rivals China to play goalless draw in their last Group A match at the Xiaoshan Sports Center Stadium in the Chinese city of Hangzhou on Sunday.
With the day's creditable draw, Bangladesh snatched their first-ever point from China, ranked 109 by FIFA, after playing three matches.
Bangladesh conceded 0-1 goal defeat against China in the Delhi Asiad in 1082 and suffered 0-3 goals defeat against them in the Busan Asiad in 2002.
Despite the day' s draw, China advanced to the next round of the meet as the group champions with unbeaten run securing seven points from three matches.
China outplayed India 5-1 goals and beat Myanmar by 4-0 goals in the group matches earlier.
Although the youthful Bangladesh team were eliminated from the meet with lone point, but their performances and fighting spirit against their much superior rivals impressed the team coach and the soccer fans.
Earlier, Bangladesh conceded a narrow 0-1 goal defeat against the against the Myanmar in their first match of the ongoing Asian Games by a suicidal goal and eliminated from the meet also with a 0-1 goal defeat against India by a penalty goal.
