State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell MP, unveiled the tournament’s logo and trophies as chief guest at a function at the National Sports Council auditorium here on Saturday.
“The main objective of these tournaments is to involve the young generation to sports and to keep them free from drug addiction,” said the state minister while speaking in the function as chief guest.
Youth and Sports secretary Dr M Zafar Uddin, President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Kazi Md Salahuddin, Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy and Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Syed Shahed Reza were also present on the occasion.
This year, some 1,13,050 boys from 4,828 teams will take part in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup while 11,826 girls from 581 teams in Bangamata Gold Cup.
