This was the 2nd successive victory for the Maldives in the tournament after beating Kyrgyzstan by 3-2 sets in the first match at the same venue on Saturday.
Bangladesh, which made a flying start in the five-nation meet beating Afghanistan by straight 3-0 (25-9, 25-9, 25-3) sets in the opening match on Saturday, today (Sunday) went down by 16-25 points in the first sets, conceded 25-27 points defeat in the 2nd set and lost the match by 22-25 points in the 3rd set.
In the day’s other match, Nepal outplayed all-losers Afghanistan by straight 3-0 sets at the same venue.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation Ashiqur Rahman Miku distributed the best player awards to the winners of both the matches.
In the remaining matches, Bangladesh will play Nepal on Tuesday (Nov 12) and face Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday (Nov 13), both at 3 pm at the same venue while the 3rd deciding match and final match will be held on Thursday (Nov 14).
