Debut Mohammad Mithun [34* off 69b; 3x4] and skipper Mahmudullah Riyad [24* off 31b; 1x4; 1x6] were at the crease on their fifth stand of 53* off 12.5 overs when the bails were drawn for the lunch break with the team total of 78/4*in 25 overs.

Donald Tiripano and Kyle Jarvis equally shared four wickets before the break.

Bangladesh’s all four on top-order batters -- Liton Kumar Das [6], Imrul Kayes [3], Mominul Haque [1] and Mshfiqur Rahim [7] – were out on single digits.   

Bangladesh opened the bat with their first innings score 522/7-d, instead of putting Zimbabwe [304/10 in first innings] on follow-on, in the morning on day-four and went through the top-order collapse by losing four wickets for 25 runs in 12.1 overs.

Earlier on Tuesday, stumps were drawn for the third day after left-arm spinner Taijul Islam (5-107) dismissed Zimbabwe’s Regis Chakabva to complete his third consecutive five-wicket haul in the series.

Spin bowlers Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz dominated in the Zimbabweans first innings as the duo shared eight wickets and gave Bangladesh a 218-run lead after the third day’s play.
