Bangladesh women's football team made a frustrating start in round-2 match of the AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup 2024 Qualifiers losing to hosts Vietnam by 0-2 goals at the National Youth Football Training Centre in Hanoi Wednesday evening.
Ruma Akhter-led Bangladesh women's team were trailing by 0-1 goal in the first half.

Captain Thao Nguyen put the hosts Vietnam ahead in the 41st minute (1-0) while striker Thanh Hieu confirmed the home team's victory scoring one more goal in the 64th minute (2-0).
Earlier, coming from behind Australia outplayed the Philippines by 6-2 goals in group B opener at the same venue Wednesday afternoon.

Bangladesh team, which was placed in four- team Group B of the Asian youth women's football tournament with stronger Australia, hosts Vietnam and the Philippines.
In the remaining group encounters, Bangladesh will face the Philippines on Friday (Sept 22) at 4 pm and will meet stronger Australia on Sunday (Sept 24) at 4 pm at the same venue.
