Bangladesh secured a huge-first innings total of 192 runs in the ongoing Harare Test as Mehidy Hasan Miraz bagged five wickets to wrap up hosts Zimbabwe for 276 on Friday.

Zimbabwe went to the tea break at 244 for five. They lost their last five wickets adding only 32 more runs on the board.

Mehidy ended up taking five wickets for 82 runs, which is his eighth five-wicket haul in Tests.

Bangladesh started their second innings, and at the end of the third day, they were batting at 45 for none, with openers— Saif Hassan and Shadman Islam— remained for 22 and 20 respectively.

Bangladesh’s lead reached 237 at the end of day three.

For Zimbabwe, Takudzwanashe Kaitano, the debutant, scored 87— the highest for his team. Besides, Brendan Taylor was the only Zimbabwe batsman to hit a fifty, 81.

Zimbabwe started to reply strongly adding 61 in the opening stand by Milton Shumba and Kaitano. Shakib earned the first breakthrough for Bangladesh removing Milton for 41.

While Mehidy scalped five, left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan scalped four for 82.

In the second wicket stand shared by Brendan Taylor and Kaitano, Zimbabwe added 115 runs on the board. Mehidy Hasan Miraz struck when this pair looked dangerous, removing Taylor for 81.

Earlier, Bangladesh batted first after winning the toss and posted 468 in the first innings riding on the unbeaten 150 off Mahmudllah Riyad, 95 of Liton Das, 75 of Taskin Ahmed and 70 of Mominul Haque.

For Zimbabwe, Blessing Muzarabani took four wickets in the first innings of the match. Besides, Donald Tiripano and Victor Nyauchi scalped two wickets each.
