The Bangladesh women’s cricket team secured a convincing 3-0 ODI series victory over Ireland, an impressive performance with a seven-wicket win in the final match at Mirpur.
Ireland, opting to bat first, managed 185 runs, led by captain Gaby Lewis’s steady 52 off 79 balls.
Bangladesh’s bowlers, known for their discipline, maintained control throughout.
Leg-spinner Fahima Khatun led the charge with 3 for 43, while off-spinner Sultana Khatun and left-arm spinner Nahida Akter chipped in with two wickets each.

In response, openers Sharmin Akhter and Fargana Hoque formed a 141-run second-wicket stand after the early dismissal of Murshida Khatun.
Sharmin contributed a classy 72 off 88 balls, while Fargana scored a steady 61, marking her third half-century of the series. Captain Nigar Sultana remained unbeaten on 18 to guide the team home with 75 balls to spare.
This series victory marked only the second ODI clean sweep for Bangladesh women, following their 2021 triumph against Zimbabwe.
Fargana was named Player of the Series for her contributions across all three matches.
