India were one of the top contenders to win the ICC ODI World Cup 2007 in South Africa. Led by Sourav Ganguly, the Indian team had some world-class players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Virender Sehwag. But even with this strong squad, India lost to an emerging Bangladesh side by 5 wickets and eventually knocked out of the tournament from the group stage. Mahmudullah Riyad's century and Mushfiqur Rahim's scintillating 69-run knock helped Bangladesh to consolidate a fighting total of 265-run to defend.
