Mushfiqur had opted out of this tour citing concern from the family over the security situation of Pakistan. Bangladesh toured Pakistan for a three-match T20I and a Test in January and February this year. Mushfiqur missed both of the series.
“We hope Mushfiq will travel this time. Not just he, I think every cricketer who are in the central contract should travel to Pakistan. This is what we believe. You should think about your country sometimes. Family is important to all of us, but the country is more important,” Nazmul added.
“He can take the idea (of security situation) from his teammates who have travelled to Pakistan in the first two phases of the series. He can talk to me as well. I think he should talk to others and make the decision to tour Pakistan,” Nazmul also told the media.
Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque said he would love to have Mushfiq in the team for the second Test against Pakistan. However, he said the final decision is to Mushfiq himself.
“I would definitely love to have Mushfiq in our team for the Pakistan tour. But I don’t know whether he’ll go or not. To be honest, I’ve no discussion with him about it,” Mominul told the media after winning the Dhaka Test against Zimbabwe by an innings and 106 runs.
