Dhaka, Dec 26 (UNB) – Bangladeshi Candidate Master Subrota Biswas of Uttara Central Chess Club shared the 2nd slot in the Bhopal International Grandmasters Chess Tournament’2018 with 13 other players securing 6.5 points after the 8th round matches now being held in Bhopal, India on Wednesday.
Mohammad Abzid Rahman of Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society earned 6 points to share the 3rd position along with other 14 players.
CM Sohel Chowdhury of Titas Club and Sazzad Kishor of Dhaka Knight’s Chess Club earned 4.5 points each.
Nayem Haque of Mir Chess Club bagged 4 points, Ahsan Ali Jewel earned 2.5 points.
In the day’s 8th round matches, CM Subrota beat Nitin Shnakar Madhu of India, Abzid drew with IM S. Nitin of India, Sazzad drew with Kohad Dipesh of India, Nayem drew with Kheerthi Ganta of India, CM Sohel lost to Ayush Sharma of India while Jewel lost to Agawane Anish of India.
