Defending Champions Bashundhara Kings further consolidated their claim to clinch the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football title beating Rahmatganj MFS by 2-0 goals on the resuming day (Tuesday) at the Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
The country's most prestigious league resumed on Tuesday (June 21) after a recess of 38 days for the engagements of Bashundhara Kings in the AFC Cup and the National Football team in the FIFA International Friendly and Asian Cup Qualifiers.
In the day's other match, middle-rated Sheikh Russel KC outplayed three time champions Sheikh Jamal DC by 3-1 goals at the Bashundhara Sports Complex in the capital Tuesday afternoon.
With the day's feat, the last two times champions Bashundhara Kings poised for the league crown for the 3rd times in a row as they comfortably dominated the league table securing 41 points from 16 matches with 13 wins, two draw and a defeat.
Six times champions Dhaka Abahani Limited followed the leader distantly with 32 points from 15 encounters with nine wins, five draw and one defeat
With the 2nd defeat on the day, Sheikh Jamal DC remained at the 3rd slot in the league table with 30 points from 16 encounters while Sheikh Russel KC remained at the 8th slot with 18 points from 16 matches, despite of the day's 4th win.
In the day's match, Brazilian deo scored both the goals for the Bashundhara Kings in span of only three minutes of the first half--midfielder Miguel Figueira Damasceno put the Kings ahead in the 35th minute (1-0) while meritorious striker Robson Robinho scored the 2nd goal in the 38th minute (2-0)..

Ziaur Rahman of the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj MFS got marching order after receiving direct red card in the 34th minute of the match to restrict his team to 10-man for the remaining period.
In the day's other match, Medio Hemanta Vincent Biswas scored first for Sheikh Russel KC in the 24th minute (1-0) while Sheikh Jamal's Uzbek booter Otabek Valizhonov leveled the margin in the 42nd minute (1-1).
Ivorian midfielder Didier Brossou put Sheikh Russel KC ahead again in the stoppage time of the first half (2-1) while local midfielder Mannaf Rabbi sealed the fate of the match scoring the 3rd goal for Sheikh Russel in the 87th minute (3-1).
Dhaka Abahani Limited will play heir traditional rivals Dhaka Mohammedan SC at 4 pm at the Bhasha Soinik Shaheedd Direndranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla while Bangladesh Police FC will face Uttar Baridhara Club also at 4 pm at the Rajshahi District Stadium on Wednesday.
