Continuous rain influenced by cyclonic storm Michaung has disrupted day two of the ongoing Test match between hosts Bangladesh and New Zealand.
Persistent rainfall throughout the day prevented any play on the second day. The match referee officially called off the day around 1:55 pm (local time).

Before the weather interruption, Bangladesh maintains a significant lead in the match, having built a first-innings advantage of 117 runs.
At the close of the first day, New Zealand found themselves struggling at 55/5, with spinners dominating the proceedings. Spin bowlers have taken 13 of the 15 wickets fallen so far in this Test.

Following their victory in the first Test, Bangladesh entered the Dhaka Test with the goal of securing the series. A series win would mark Bangladesh's first-ever Test series triumph over New Zealand.
