Coming from behind, league champions Bashundhara Kings smartly reached the semifinal of the Federation Cup Football Tournament eliminating Muktijoddha Sangsad KC by 3-1 goal in the first quarterfinal at the Bir Shrestha Fl Lt Matiur Stadium in Munshiganj Tuesday afternoon.
The match was locked in 1-1 goal in the first half.
Jaoanese midfielder Soma Otani put the freedom figters team Muktijoddha ahead in the 35th minute (1-0) while Brazilian striker Dorielton Gomes restored the parity for the Kings in the 42nd minute (1-1).
Dorielton again put the Kings ahead from behind in the 79th minute scoring his 2nd goal (2-1).
Anothe Brazillian forward Robson Robinho sealed the fate of the match scoring the 3rd goal for the Kings in the 82nd minute (3-1).
Star studded Bashundhara Kings will now play the first semifinal on May 9 at 3:15 pm against the winners of Mohammedan SC and Chittagong Abahani at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.
Dhaka Mohammedan SC will meet Chittagong Abahani Limited in the 3rd quarterfinal on April 18 at 3:15 pm at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla.
Dhaka Abahani Limited will face Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the 2nd quarterfinal on April 11, also at 3:15 pm at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.
In the 4th and last quarterfinal, Sheikh Russel KC will play Rahmatganj MFS on May 2 at 3:15 pm at Bir Shrestha Fl Lt Matiur Stadium in Munshiganj.
The 2nd semifinal scheduled for May 16, also at 3:15 pm at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla.
