Dhaka, July 2 (UNB) — Half centuries by openers Lokesh Rahul and Rohit Sharma put India in control of their match against Bangladesh at Edgbaston on Tuesday.
Rohit was on 7 when Tamim Iqbal dropped an easy catch when he skied Mustafiuzr Rahman to mid-wicket.
At the end of 22 overs, India amassed 139 runs without losing any wicket.
Rohit hit his fifty off 45 balls with four fours and three sixes. India passed the 100-run mark in 18 overs.
Before coming to this match, Bangladesh played seven games and won three of them while the other one was washed out due to rain. The Tigers lost in the other three matches.
India, on the other hand, played seven matches so far and won five of them. However, they lost against hosts England.
Bangladesh left Mahmudullah Riyad and Mehidy Hasan Miraz out of this match to pave a way for Sabbir Rahman and Rubel Hossain.
