Bangladesh Junior Kabaddi team reached to the semifinals of the first Junior Kabaddi World Cup’2019 beating Thailand by 62-37 points in the quarter-final match at Kish Island National Stadium in Iran on Thursday.
In the day’s other quarterfinal matches, Iran beat Chinese Taipei by 53-31 points, Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 44-32 points while Kenya beat Denmark by 79-24 points.
Bangladesh will play hosts Iran in the 2nd semi-final on Friday while Pakistan will face Kenya in the first semifinal on the same day.
Earlier, Bangladesh emerged champions in three-team Group C to reach the quarterfinals of the junior world meet beating Afghanistan by 84-11 points and Chinese Taipei by 48-36 points.
Favorite and hosts Iran emerged champions in the four-team Group A crushing Malaysia by 70-29, Turkmenistan by 90-46 and Thailand by 60-19 points.
A total of 13 countries, split into four groups, were taking part in the Junior Kabaddi World Cup.
