Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez will miss the chance to face his former club FC Barcelona this Saturday after testing positive for COVID-19.
Suarez is currently on international duty with Uruguay and the Uruguayan Football Federation confirmed his positive test result in a communique on Monday.
The positive means he will miss Uruguay's FIFA World Cup qualifier against Brazil and also Atletico's La Liga match against Barcelona on Saturday in the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
Suarez scored 198 goals for Barcelona in six seasons with the club and already has five league goals since joining Atletico this summer, and the 33-year-old lining up against his former club would have been one of the big attractions of the weekend.
The striker will also miss the following week's Champions League game against Lokomotiv Moscow and La Liga match at Valencia.
