Bangladeshi International Master (IM) Mohammad Fahad Rahman is sharing the second slot along with 12 players earning 4 points each after the 5th round matches of the EKA IIFL Investment Managers 5th International Grand Master Chess Tournament held in the Indian city of Mumbai on Friday.
Grand Master (GM) Ziaur Rahman is sharing the third slot along with 17 players securing 3.5 points each.
Another Bangladeshi chess player Tahsin Tajwar Zia earned one point after the 5th round matches.
IM Fahad beat Sammed Jaykumar Shete of India, GM Zia beat WIM Vantika Agrawal of India and Tahsin drew with WFM Vishwa Vasnawal of India in the 5th round matches.
In Mumbai Junior Under-13 FIDE Rating Chess Tournament, Bangladesh’s Marzouq Chowdhury earned 4 points and Azher Hossain earned 2.5 points each after 6th round on the same day.
In their 6th round matches, Marzouq beat Deoshatwar Ojas of India and Azher beat Shaha Arnav Parin of India.
