Hasan Murad shone with the ball for Bangladesh Cricket Board high-performance unit (HP) against Bangladesh A team on the first day of the four-day practice match in Chattogram Wednesday.
The left-arm spinner bagged six wickets for 47 runs. Bangladesh A scored 273/9 in 89.1 overs at stumps.
HP won the toss and opted to bowl first. They removed Bangladesh A openers within 11 runs. Saif Hassan posted only 2 runs, while Sadman Islam scored 6. Both fell to right-arm pacer Sumon Khan.
In the third wicket stand, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque added 88 runs. Rejaur Rahman broke the partnership by removing Mominul for 62.
Mohammad Mithun, Yasir Ali and Irfan Shukkur failed to impress with the bat as they perished on 5, 0, and 0. All of them were removed by 20-year-old left-arm spinner Murad.
However, Nayeem Hasan and Shahidul Islam scored 32 and 36. Both of them were removed by Murad.
So far, Murad has played only two first-class, 14 List A, and six T20s matches. He did well during his U-19 cricketing days.
