Bangladesh finished runners-up for the 2nd time in a row after conceding a 5-3 goals defeat against India in tie breaker in the final as the two teams ended in a goalless draw at the end of the stipulated period at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimpu, Bhutan on Tuesday last.
Bangladesh made a flying start beating hosts Bhutan by 2-0 goals in their first match on October 9 and confirmed their spot in the final beating Nepal by 2-1 goals in the second match on October 11.
The Bangladeshi girls showed impressive performance in their last group match as they played out a 1-1 draw against India U-15 women’s football team on Sunday last.
Earlier, Bangladesh claimed their maiden SAFF U−15 Women's Championship title beating India by 1-0 goal in the final at Kamalapurhere on December 24 in 2017 and finished runners-up in the SAFF U−15 Women's Championship 2018 after conceding a 0-1 goal defeat against the same team in the final in Thimphu on August 18.
