Sunnydale however clinched the boys’ titles for the 3rd time in a row, defeating Residential Model School & College 28-19 in the final after leading the first half by 24-6 goals at the same venue on Wednesday. Irfan Zayed scored eight goals for the winners while Irfan Hossain netted six goals for the losers.
Later, Irfan Zayed of the champions Sunnydale School was adjudged the best player in boys group while Fahmida Halim Lamia of Viqarunnisa Noon School & College named as the best player among the girls.
Saint Gregory’s High School finished 3rd in the boys group beating Shaheed Police Smriti College by 21-14 goals while Kadamtola East Bashabo School & College clinched the 3rd spot beating Scholastica Uttara by 9-6 goals in place deciding matches on Wednesday.
Chairman of the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) Dr Sultan Ahmed was the chief guest at the day’s closing function and later he distributed the trophies. CEO of the meet’s sponsor Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Ltd (Polar Ice Cream) Shah Masud Imam was also present as special guest at the function, chaired by BHF President AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul.
