Dhaka, Dec 19 (UNB)- Mohammad Shafiul Islam of Saint Gregory’s School of Bangladesh finished 17th in the 27th Telegraph School Chess Championship securing seven points from nine matches that concluded in Kolkata on Wednesday.
Sadnan Hasan Diha of Ideal School of Narayanganj became 40th collecting 6.5 points from nine round matches of the meet participated by 428 players from Indian, Bangladesh, Finland Nepal and Philippines.
Mortuza Mahathir Islam of Ideal School of Narayanganj became 51st and Kazi Zarin Tasnim of Viquarunnisa Noon School became 64th securing 6 points each while WCM Noshin Anjum of Viquarunnisa Noon School became 82nd with 5.5 points.
FM Mitrabha Guha of India became unbeaten champion collecting 8.5 points.
CM Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh became 2nd in Under-8 age group securing 6 points while Warsia Khusbu became champions in Under-6 age group with 4 points.
