Stepping in to fill the captaincy role for this Test is Litton Das, who has been one of Bangladesh's standout batsmen in recent years. Having previously led the team in limited-overs cricket, Litton is now set to take charge in the longer format of the game as well.
During his surprise visit, Shakib was seen engaging in discussions with Coach Chandika Hathurusingha. The influential all-rounder's unexpected presence during practice provided a much-needed morale boost for the players, who will keenly feel his absence and the loss of his contributions in the upcoming Test.
