The second session of Bangabandhu Test series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium


After uncomfortable cricket in the first session of day one of the second Test of Bangabandhu Test series against West Indies, Bangladesh made full use of the second session as Soumya Sarkar and Abu Jayed Rahi scalped three wickets before the tea break on Thursday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

At the team break, West Indies were batting at 146 for four with Nkrumah Bonner and Jermaine Blackwood were batting for 30 and 15 respectively.

In the first session, Bangladesh took only one wicket as Taijul Islam removed John Campbell for 36.

In the early second session, Abu Jayed removed Sheyne Moseley for seven. Sheyne tried to cut the ball to the point area but only managed an edge and the ball shattered his stumps.

Soumya removed Kraigg Brathwaite (47), who looked to become more dangerous by the time. And before the tea break, Abu Jayed removed Kyle Mayers for five. Mayers had hit a double-ton in the first game in Chattogram and handed Bangladesh a three-wicket defeat.
