The target was not so big, and the Netherlands could have chased it if the top order had a solid start. But pacer Taskin Ahmed had another idea, and he struck twice in the first two deliveries of the Netherlands innings. The Dutch side lost two wickets without having a run on the board, and within four overs they were 17/4. Middle-order batter Colin Ackermann (62) and lower-order batter Paul van Meekeren (24) tried to reach the target, but eventually the Netherlands were bowled out for 135 in exactly 20 overs.
The majority of Bangladesh's players did not perform as expected. In fact, the pace bowlers played a major role in snatching the victory from the Dutch side. Here are the player ratings of Bangladesh against the Netherlands.
Najmul Hossain Shanto (4/10)
Najmul’s inclusion in the team was a big question mark in the first place. He was sent to open the innings with Soumya Sarkar and had a 43-run partnership with him. But he once again failed to extend his innings after having a solid start. Najmul made 25 off 20 balls.
Soumya Sarkar (4/10)
Soumya was picked by the selectors because of his very good record in the Oceania region. But he failed to deliver against the Netherlands and departed after playing a 14-off-14-ball knock. Soumya bowled three overs, including the final one of the match, and got the last wicket of the Netherlands.
Litton Das (2/10)
The most stylish batter in Bangladesh, Litton Das, failed to show his true class in this contest. He only made 9 and departed at a crucial stage of the innings.
Shakib Al Hasan (3/10)
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan didn’t have a good day either with the bat or ball. He made only 7 with the bat and was the costliest of the regular Bangladesh bowlers.
Afif Hossain (6/10)
Afif Hossain played an important knock for Bangladesh when the team total was 76/5. He stayed at the crease till the 18th over and ensured Bangladesh had a decent total on board. Afif made a vital 38-run in 27 balls.

Yasir Ali (1/10)
Yasir Ali’s inclusion in the team was to provide some power hitting in the death overs. But he was a complete failure against the Netherlands. Yasir only made 3 runs.
Nurul Hasan (4/10)
Nurul Hasan Sohan didn’t do much with the bat but was active behind the wicket. He made only 13 runs after coming into the crease in the middle overs.
Mosaddek Hossain (7.5/10)
Mosaddek Hossain’s 20 off 12 balls cameo made the difference for Bangladesh. Bangladesh could well have lost the match if he hadn't played the crucial blow in the death overs.
Taskin Ahmed (8/10)
What a performer Taskin Ahmed has become after returning to the Bangladesh national team setup. His desire to become one of the world’s best will soon be accomplished if he continues to perform like he did against the Netherlands. Taskin was the player of the match, with 4 wickets to his name.
Hasan Mahmud (7.5/10)
The young pacer Hasan Mahmud was brilliant against the Netherlands. Hasan picked up two wickets in his four overs spell with a stunning economy rate of 3.75.
Mustafizur Rahman (7/10)
The cutter master, Mustafizur Rahman, didn’t pick up a wicket for his side against the Netherlands, but he was very economical. Mustafizur finished his spell with a tally of 4-0-20-0 with an economy rate of 5.

Aftermath
The batters once again fell short of expectations in the game against the Netherlands, which is a serious concern ahead of the fixtures against strong opponents. That is why the batter's ratings against the Netherlands were low among the Bangladesh players. In contrast, bowlers, who practically played the major roles in Bangladesh's first victory in the T20 World Cup 2022, had better ratings.
