Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed has been named as a concussion substitute for Mohammad Saifuddin who suffered a nasty blow on his helmet in the second ODI of the three-match series against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
During the 47th over bowled by Dushmantha Chameera, Saifuddin had suffered the blow on his helmet and right after that, he ran himself out for 11 off 30 balls.
Before Sri Lanka started to chase the target of 247 runs, the BCB media department confirmed that Saifuddin won’t take part in this game anymore.
Bangladesh posted 246 for 10 in 48.1 overs riding on 125 by Mushfiqur Rahim. It was the eighth ODI by the wicketkeeper-batsman.
Bangladesh’s first concussion substitute was Mehidy Hasan Miraz who replaced Liton Das in Bangladesh’s maiden pink-ball Test in October 2019 and in the same match, Taijul Islam replaced Nayeem Hasan as another concussion substitute.
