Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma has been excluded from the squad for Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain for disciplinary reasons, dealing an early challenge to new manager Thomas Frank as he targets silverware in his debut match.
Frank told reporters Tuesday that Bissouma did not travel to Udine after arriving late “several times” during the offseason. “The latest time was one too many,” he said, adding, “You need to give players a lot of love but also have demands — and there must be consequences. This time, there was a consequence.”

The Mali international, who started in Spurs’ Europa League final victory in May, is in the final year of his contract.
Frank confirmed that striker Dominic Solanke is fit to play after injury, but attacking midfielders James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski remain sidelined long-term, along with left back Destiny Udogie.
Calling the Super Cup “a great challenge and an even bigger opportunity,” Frank said his players are eager for more success after lifting a major trophy just six or seven weeks ago.
