Bangladesh will play their giant neighbour India in the 2nd semifinal of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Men's U-19s Asia Cup on Friday (December 15) at 11:30 am at the Dubai International Stadium in the UAE.
Hosts the United Arab Emirate (UAE) will play Pakistan in the first semifinal, also on Friday at 11:30 am at the ACC Academy ground in Dubai.
The final match will be held on Sunday (December 17).
Bangladesh reached the semifinal as the Group B champions with an all-win record eliminating Sri Lanka by six wickets with 55 balls remaining in the last group match last Wednesday, featuring a brilliant century by opener Ashiqur Rahman Shibli.
India booked a seat for the last four stage as the Group A runners-up securing two wins and one defeat against group champions Pakistan.
Group A champions Pakistan qualified for the semifinal with an all-win record while the UAE managed a semifinal berth as Group B runners up at the coffin of formidable Sri Lanka with two wins and one losses against Bangladesh.
After Group B matches, Bangladesh emerged group champions with an all-win record securing full six points , host UAE finished group runners up to qualify for the semis collecting four points, Sri Lanka eliminated from the race with two points while all losers Japan became 4th and last without any point.
In Group A, Pakistan emerged champions securing full six points, India finished runners up collecting four points, Afghanistan became 3rd with two points while pointless Nepal finished 4th and last.
Earlier, Bangladesh made a flying start in the four-team Group B outplaying the UAE by 61 runs in the first match.and outplayed Japan by nine wickets with 232 balls remaining in the 2nd match, apart from a six-wicket victory over Islander Sri Lanka .
