Jashore, Sept 13 (UNB) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 18 Rohingya people including 10 children and four women suspecting that they were trying to enter into Indian territory through Amrakhali area near Benapole border on Thursday.
Being tipped-off, BGB men conducted a search at a Benapole-bound bus in the afternoon at the place and detained 18 Rohingya people who were displaced from Rakhine State of Myanmar, said Lt Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB-49.
The detainees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station and a case was filed with the police station, Ariful added added.
