The players registration widow was originally closed on January 26 in a view to start the women’s league after six years from January 31.
The league is now likely to start on February 15 due to Dhaka City Corporation elections and as well as for the appeals of some participating clubs.
All league matches will be played at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalpur.
Chairman of the BFF women’s wing Mahfuza Akhter Kiron said, “Uttar Bongo and some other clubs requested us to give them chance for adding more players, they are the new clubs in football, moreover, some national players including youth nationals didn’t get team, If those clubs will get the chance then the league will be more competitive and the player will be benefited.”
Replying to a query, Kiron said, the league is likely to start on February 15.
Participant eight teams are: Bashundhara Kings, Begum Anwar Sporting Club, FC Uttar Bongo, Kacharipara Ekadash, Cumilla United, Nasrin Sporting Club, Akelpur Swapnochura Football Academy and Spartan MK Galactica, Sylhet.
Among the eight teams, only Bashundhara Kings is the prominent and established club while the rest seven team are new comers and less known teams.
