Came from behind, Bangladesh Ansar & VDP team clinched Walton First Federation Cup Women's Handball crown beating Bangladesh Police Handball Club by 31-23 goals in the final at the Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium here on Saturday.
The winners were trailing by 13-16 goals in the first half.
Khadiza scored six goals for Ansar & VDP while Khaleda contributed the match highest seven goals for the runners-up Police team in the final.
Rubina of Police team was adjudged the best player of the tournament, arranged on the occasion of Mujib Borsho.
Turkish Ambassador in Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan witnessed the day's final as the chief guest and distributed the champions and runners-up trophies.
Executive Director of the meet's sponsor Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn and Head of the Programme Development of Radio Today Zahirul Islam Tutul were also present as special guests.
Earlier in the semifinals, Ansar & VDP eliminated
Naogaon DSA by 40-17 goal after leading the first half by 19-6 goal while Bangladesh Police Handball team outplayed Jamalpur Sports Academy by 38-13 goal after dominating the first half by 16-8 goal.
