The touring Pakistan Women's Cricket team took a 1-0 lead in the three-match Women's ODI Series, beating hosts Bangladesh Women's team by five wickets in a low-scoring first match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday.

Winning the toss, the Bangladesh team batted first and were bundled out cheaply for 81 runs in 31.5 overs in a 50-over-a-side match.

After the departure of the top four batters for 25 runs in 13.3 overs, captain Nigar Sultana pairing number six Fahima Khatun contributed 22 runs in the 5th wicket stand.

Fahima Khatun scored the team's highest 18 runs, number seven. Ritu Moni made 14 runs and Nigar Sultana scored 13 runs, which were the main contributors to Bangladesh reaching double figures.

Sadia Iqbal grabbed four Bangladesh wickets for 13 runs, while captain Nida Dar and Umme Hani took three wickets each, giving away 10 and 20 runs, respectively.

Chasing an easy target of 82 runs, the touring Pakistan team earned a comfortable victory, scoring 85 runs for the loss of five wickets in 24.5 overs.

Hosts Bangladesh women's team will play the remaining two matches of the three-match ODI Series against Pakistan on November 7 and 10, also at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

Earlier, the Bangladesh Women's team won their historic and first-ever Women's T20 Series against Pakistan, beating them 2-1 in the three-match series at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram last Sunday.
